The 90,000 square foot facility features the headquarters for the College's customized training force — The Solutions Group, including general purpose classrooms, electrical classroom/lab, mechanical classroom/lab, safety classroom/lab, HVACR classroom/lab, computer classroom, and large multi-purpose room. Additionally, a world-class welding laboratory is available for students. ANC Tech Center students from area high schools are being served on the ANC Main Campus by classroom and lab facilities for Aviation Maintenance, Construction, Industrial Technology, Medical Professions, and Welding. The design incorporates a computer lab specifically for the ANC Tech Center. Also featured is an aviation complex, combination non-destructive testing (NDT) and composites laboratory, and general purpose classrooms to fully accommodate ANC's Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certified Aviation Maintenance program. Other related facilities include an aircraft apron, paint booth, tool room and compass rose. The building features a two-story height aviation room, welding lab, and glass entrance tower to add to the Center's distinctiveness and appeal. The Center is home to the Arkansas Steelmaking Academy (a partnership with the SMS group) which began operations in 2019. By partnering with SMS, the Arkansas Northeastern College has become a satellite training hub for North America as a cost-effective way to gain knowledge of cutting edge techniques in steelmaking and processing. The agreement between ANC and SMS group allows companies to save the costs of overseas travel by providing a North American option for the renowned TECademy training. The ANC Center for Allied Technologies impressively mixes high-tech and industrial components into an educational delivery mode. The cost to complete this facility was approximately $14.4 million. Distinctive features at the main entrance are the 52-foot vestibule tower, an entrance garden honoring the late John Correnti, an internation flag court featuring flags representing over two dozen corporate and private donors who supported construction costs of the Center, and the Harry L. Crisp II display installed in 2021. The display is a lasting way to highlight Mr. Crisp and his generosity. It is a striking showpiece to greet those who enter the Center that brings a piece of the College's history to the forefront. Aerobic Room The ANC Briggs/Sebaugh Wellness Center has a large Aerobics Room for student use. Because aerobic exercise reduces the risk of many conditions, including obesity, heart disease, high blood pressure, and type 2 diabetes. ANC offers several aerobic classes with both credit and non-credit options. Exercise classes such as yoga and jazzercize, as well as dance classes, are held in the aerobics room. Student Support Services Computer Lab Student Support Services (SSS) participants have a dedicated student lab. The SSS Student Lab includes six computer stations, a color printer, and a study area. Participants are encouraged to use computers for assignments and research as needed. The lab is also used for both online and individual tutoring sessions. The SSS Resource Library located in the lab offers a vast collection of materials such as study guides and workbooks, career development tools, self-improvement guides, and resume writing tools, as well as commonly used school supplies. The library also includes items students can check-out, such as laptops, Microsoft Surface tablets, color printers, digital recorders, and both graphing and scientific calculators. SSS offers these FREE services as well as other activities to all SSS participants. General Purpose Classroom The Briggs/Sebaugh Wellness Center includes three general classrooms upstairs. These roomy classrooms offer comfortable seating and tables for students to place books or devices such as tablets or laptops. Classes from different disciplines across campus are held in these rooms. Locker Rooms The Briggs/Sebaugh Wellness Center is equipped with two large locker rooms with adjoining showers - one for men and one for women. Students or Wellness Center members are allowed to check out a locker with a lock to safely store their personal items while they utilize the facility. HOME More OUR HISTORY On December 17, 1974, the voters of Mississippi County approved the establishment of a community college district and the levying of a three mill tax to finance construction of the new campus. The State Board of Higher Education and the State Legislature had previously approved establishment of the institution. Governor Dale Bumpers appointed a nine member Board of Trustees who began a search for a President for the institution. Dr. Harry V. Smith, selected as the first President of the College, began service in February 1975, and served unto October 1, 1983, when he was succeeded by Dr. John P. Sullins. An administrative team and faculty were assembled, and on August 25, 1975, classes began for the first time in renovated, temporary facilities located in the former Sudbury Elementary School at 200 South Lake Street in Blytheville. Approximately 800 students enrolled for credit the first term. Non-credit community service courses began with an additional 500 students in the spring term. In February 1976, the Board of Trustees purchased 80 acres of land for construction on South Highway 61. We kindly request that all testers arrive at least 15 minutes before their scheduled exam, equipped with a valid photo ID. Our testing center is open to serve you on Mondays, Wednesday, and Thursdays from 8:00am to 4:30pm. Should you have any inquiries or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. ACCUPLACER TESTING The Accuplacer is a placement test that is untimed and is divided in 3 sections — Math, Reading, and Writing. OTHER ASSESSMENTS The ANC Testing Center offers multiple assessment testing — graduate assessment, NOCTI, CLEP, and more. IMPORTANT GENERAL TESTING INFORMATION Proper ID All tests require a picture identification. With no photo identification, you WILL NOT be allowed to test. Acceptable identification varies depending on exam. Examples include: ANC or High School Picture ID State Issued Driver's License or ID Passport Dress Comfortably Wear layered clothing to minimize the distraction of discomfort during test. Inclement Weather If ANC is closed due to inclement weather, testing will be canceled or postponed. If you are scheduled for an exam on a date when inclement weather is predicted or has occurred, please check the ANC website or Facebook page for closing information. Rescheduling is at the responsibility of the tester. Availability Each test session has limited seating; therefore, testers are required to register ahead of the testing session. All reservations are first come, first served. Late admittance for in-person test sessions is not allowed 30 minutes after test reservation. Prohibited Materials Cell phones and other electronic devices must be turned OFF, not just on silent, during testing. Using or answering phones during testing is grounds for immediate dismissal from the Testing Center and invalidates test scores. Accuplacer & Calculators The Accuplacer Exam prohibits the use of any calculator other than the built-in calculator provided in the exam system. ACCUPLACER TESTING Accuplacer testing is a computer-based assessment commonly used by colleges and universities in the United States to determine students' readiness for college-level coursework. It consists of sections in reading, writing, and mathematics, with questions adapting in difficulty based on previous responses. The results aid in customized course placement, helping institutions decide whether students need remedial courses or are prepared for college-level classes. Students may take the Accuplacer test up to two times in each section within a 28-day period. The two attempts must be at least 24 hours apart. If a student has reached the two-attempt limit within the 28-day period, they must wait until the 28-day window has passed before testing again in that section. Exception: Students who successfully complete the college's Accuplacer Online Course and Practice Test are eligible for one additional testing attempt in the applicable section(s), even if they have already used their two attempts within the 28-day period. ONLINE These are Internet classes that are totally online courses that you attend at the time most convenient for you. HYBRID Hybrid courses have elements of in-person and distance education and meet appropriate credit hour requirements through a combination of these modalities. Students taking hybrid courses should expect to attend some learning sessions on campus as well as complete portions of the course online. Other approved recommendations: Classes will be listed as two-day a week classes with the understanding that only one day will be for live meetings. Meeting one day per week face-to-face is the expectation for faculty teaching hybrid courses. All online and hybrid courses are required to make use of discussion forum assignments on the LMS to promote sustained interaction and foster an engaging classroom environment.
