Childcare
ANC is home to the NIBCO Children's Care Center which offers low-cost or free
daycare for the children of ANC students.
This facility operates while classes are in session at the College. Parents of
infants, toddlers, and preschoolers are encouraged to apply early. Students may
check with the Nibco Children’s Care Center on the main campus or contact the
program director of the Mississippi County HeadStart at 870.532.2348.
Cost
Higher Education is offered at a lower cost at ANC, and many sources of
financial aid are available. From grants to privately funded scholarships,
ANC will help you find the funds you need to go to college.
Mississippi County resident: $50 per credit hour
(includes students & graduates of Buffalo Island Central High
School)
Out-of-County: $60 per credit hour
(includes the Missouri counties of Dunklin, Pemiscot, and New
Madrid)
Out-of-State & International: $110 per credit hour

Testing Center Information
In an effort to accommodate
the needs of our students and the community, Arkansas Northeastern College (ANC)
offers a variety of testing options. We have a well-trained knowledgeable staff
available to assist you at all times. If you need additional information not
included on this page, please contact the Testing Center at 870.762.3108.
In accordance with Section 19 of Act 1052 of 1987, all degree seeking, entering
students must demonstrate mastery of basic skills in writing, reading and
mathematics. ANC will accept ACT, ASSET, COMPASS, and SAT scores for
placement in these subjects. All scores are valid for 5 years from the testing
date. The Arkansas Department of Higher Education followed guidelines and issued
cut-off scores for student placement in college level or preparatory level
courses in math, English composition, and reading skills. For a copy of the
score placement sheet used by ANC please call the Testing Center.
ANC offers the ASSET test on a bi-monthly basis at the main campus and the
COMPASS test daily. For specific times or to make an appointment please contact
Mylas Jeffers in the Testing Center.
ASSET and COMPASS are available at our Burdette and Paragould locations, for
dates and times please contact those campuses directly.
In addition to the ASSET and COMPASS tests the ANC Testing Center offers
the following:

CLEP (College Level
Examination Program)- ANC students may
earn up to 30 semester hours through CLEP.

Practice PRAXIS
-
PAX-RN- The pre-admissions nursing exam is given in
both Fall and Spring semesters and is required for students who are applying to
the RN program.

PAX-PN- The pre-admissions nursing exam is given in
the Spring semester and is required for students who are applying to the
Practical Nursing Program.

CAAP (Rising Junior)- Act 874 of 1993 of the
Arkansas Legislature requires that students in Arkansas public colleges must be
evaluated to measure college-level math, writing, reading and scientific
reasoning skills needed to succeed at the junior level. Students enrolled at ANC
in transfer degree programs must take the tests no earlier than accumulating 45
college-level credits (excluding developmental education credits) and not later
than completing the College’s official application for graduation. Failure to
complete this testing requirement may interrupt graduation and/or transfer plans
by the student. Students eligible for CAAP testing will be notified in writing
by the College, the test is given twice per year.
Proctoring Services – ANC will proctor tests for students taking
correspondence courses from other accredited colleges and universities. Call in
advance to set an appointment.
