The one year certificate in Dental Assisting Technology is designed to train dental assistants to perform the nonprofessional duties in all areas of the modern dental office. The program consists of training needed to assist the dentist in the dental operatory, the laboratory, and the dental business office. The formal training contains technical knowledge pertaining to dentistry and clinical application of this knowledge. Emergency Medical Technology - Paramedic The one year certificate in Paramedic Education Training provides education in advanced pre-hospital care. This program meets the requirements of the Arkansas Department of Health, Office of Emergency Medical Services, by combining didactic, clinical and field experiences to provide the Paramedic student with the diversity of knowledge that he/she must possess to function effectively as a professional provider of advanced life support outside of the hospital environment. The one year certificate in Practical Nursing is approved by the Arkansas State Board of Nursing and prepares individuals for the practice of Licensed Practical Nursing. This program integrates clinical experience with classroom theory. Students obtain clinical experience in hospitals, nursing homes, doctor's offices, public health departments, and schools.
