NOTE:  This program is offered in two-year blocks.  Anyone interested in beginning the next rotation (Fall 2008) should call Phil Gerke at the University of Arkansas (479) 575-4690.

The HRD concentration serves adult learners whose needs were neglected in the past.  The direction is toward the learner who is currently in the workforce, has earned some college credit, but who does not yet have a baccalaureate degree.  The flexibility of the program is offered to allow that person to pursue their degree without missing work.

The concentration in Human Resource Development is designed for the working adult learner with a minimum of five years of work experience.  To accomplish this courses are offered during the evenings and weekends to allow the working person to pursue this degree.  Courses are delivered over a distance education system allowing learners in several different locations across Arkansas to pursue their degree simultaneously.  Students enrolling in this program will be eligible to receive up to 33 hours of credit for:

  • work experience from business and industry

  • prior training and formal learning experiences

  • specific formal testing

  • armed forces experience and training

For more information on Bachelor of Science Degree in Vocational Education with a concentration in Human Resource Development (HRD) contact Patsy Smith, Dr. Dale Thompson, or Mr. Phil Gerke.
